CHANGE. The Only Constant.
I find it fascinating to read quotations of famous, and even not so famous, people; and, while cleaning out some old files I came across a couple of interesting ones. A newsletter of the Foundation for Pavement Preservation when I served as a Board member representing County Engineers included a quotation by Voltaire which subtlety incorporates "change": "To preserve and renew is almost as noble as to create."
RTVision strives to create real time solutions for the efficient management of road & bridge operations and public works projects while preserving the integrity of engineering principles along with renewing interest in meeting the challenges of changing times. This approach also reflects words from President Carter's inaugural speech: "...to be able to adjust to changing times and still hold to unchanging principles...".
There may be times when change isn't appropriate, however we need to be careful with blind maintenance of the status quo - it can impede progress and efficiency. As managers of road & bridge operations and public works projects, ask yourself whether opportunities for innovation and improvement are available in your operation. RTVision can assist you with the necessary tools to be progressive and efficient. Check us out at www.rtvision.com to review all products available. And remember, we are always available to provide customized services and products to fit your specific needs; contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone 320-632-0760.
Former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt is credited with the following quotation, "Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself." This is good advice in dealing with change and technology and applies to RTVision products that have been developed by engineers and technicians for engineers and technicians. And, to conclude consider the beginning and ending of the quotation Attitude by Charles Swindoll, a Watergate figure turned Evangelist: "The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.......The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so, it is with you - we are in charge of our attitudes." I would add that being in charge of our attitudes allows us to comfortably and confidently deal with that one constant - change.
